What are fillers?
Many dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid which is naturally found throughout the body. As we age, hyaluronic acid production decreases and these injectables are a popular non-surgical treatment for facial rejuvenation. Besides enhancing and hydrating lips, hyaluronic acid fillers are commonly used to:
- Reduce wrinkles
- Restore volume loss
- Balance & contour the face
What to expect: A discussion will be had whether you’d like to enhance with more structure, add hydration, or both! During your lip filler session you’ll be given a nerve block for anesthesia so you should experience little pain.
*If you have a history of Herpes Simplex Virus or cold sores it‘s advised to pretreat with antivirals before you receive lip filler.
Appointment length: 45 minutes
Downtime: Swelling and bruising can occur so it’s best to wait at least 2 weeks for final results to let swelling resolve.
You should NOT receive filler if:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have an active infection
- Have an autoimmune disease
