Maureen Furlong, MSNA, CRNA, APRN
Hi, I'm Maureen, the owner and lead provider at MOTOX skin science.
I’m a board certified registered nurse anesthesiologist with 20+ years in patient care. My path started on a medical-surgical floor in Burlington, Vermont, then moved into Boston’s cardiac ICUs at St. Elizabeth’s and Beth Israel Deaconess, all places that taught me how calm, precise care changes outcomes. In 2011, after earning my Masters Degree in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of New England, I began providing anesthesia for a wide range of surgeries across the Portland, Maine area.
Why I work with Aesthetics
On medical missions to Ecuador and Uganda, I saw how restoring someone’s sense of self can change the way they move through the world. That experience, combined with my love of meticulous, quality care & technique drew me to medical aesthetics, where small, thoughtful choices make a big difference in confidence and quality of life.
How I care for you
At MOTOX, I bring operating room level safety and precision to injectables and skin rejuvenation plans.
Since 2020, I’ve completed extensive aesthetic training (including Beautiphi Academy) and I stay current, so your treatment is safe, conservative, and effective. My goal for you is natural-looking, never overdone. I listen first, map your goals to your unique anatomy, and build step-by-step plans so you always feel informed and in control.

You’ll be heard, never rushed, and treated with the same diligence I bring to the operating room. My goal is simple: results that look like you, refreshed, confident, and cared for. I’m here to guide you, when you’re ready, to make beautiful choices.

Shanda France, RN, LMT
Hi, I’m Shanda, a Registered Nurse specialized in medical aesthetics and a Licensed Massage Therapist. My career bridges the gap between medical aesthetics and functional medicine, offering a holistic approach to rejuvenation that focuses on both outer beauty and inner vitality.

I believe that true radiance comes from addressing the whole person. Combining my nursing expertise with advanced aesthetic training, I help clients achieve natural, balanced results that enhance confidence and promote lasting wellness.
How I Care for You
I am skilled in Botox, dermal fillers, advanced laser treatments, and radiofrequency microneedling, and I bring the same focus on safety, precision, and artistry to every treatment. My background in nursing ensures that every procedure is performed with care, while my approachable nature helps patients feel heard and comfortable, throughout their aesthetic journey.
Currently, I am advancing my studies as a Functional Medicine Practitioner, allowing me to support skin health from the inside out and help patients achieve lasting radiance. My approach is grounded in science, integrity, and genuine care, helping patients achieve natural, balanced results that restore confidence and glow from the inside out.
Sierra Valmond, Front Desk & Medical Assistant
Hi, I'm Sierra, the warm face you'll meet at the front desk and the first step in your MOTOX experience.
I've been in aesthetics since 2019, and what keeps me here is simple, I genuinely love being part of the moment when someone starts to feel like themselves again. Whether you're walking in for the first time or returning for a follow up, my goal is to make sure you feel welcomed, informed, and excited about your care.
Why I work in aesthetics
I've struggled with acne personally, and I know how quietly it chips away at your confidence. That experience gave me something no training could, real empathy for what our patients carry when they walk through the door. It's why I'm so passionate about this work and why I take every skincare conversation seriously.
How I care for you
You'll find me at the front desk, but my role goes beyond scheduling. I'm here to help you understand your options, connect you with the right provider, and make sure you feel supported at every step of your self care journey. As a mom of two girls, I understand how hard it can be to prioritize yourself, and how much it matters when you do.

Elizabeth Recupero, DO, MPH, MEd
Dr. Elizabeth “Bitsy” Recupero brings three decades of experience in comprehensive, whole person medicine to her role as Medical Director at MOTOX skin science.
Dr. Recupero earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996. She completed a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
Following residency, she founded The Recuperative Center, a solo primary care practice in Lambertville, New Jersey, with a focus on Holistic and Integrative Medicine. During this time, she deepened her expertise in evidence based complementary care and completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona from 2007 to 2009.
Committed to advancing both public health and medical education, Dr. Recupero earned her Master of Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health in 2017 and her Master of Education with an emphasis in Instructional Design and Adult Learning Theory from the University of Massachusetts in 2018.
In 2012, she transitioned from private practice to serve at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, returning to her hometown of Boston, Massachusetts. There, she distinguished herself as a national subject matter expert in patient centered care, Whole Person Care, and health system redesign. In addition to providing primary care, she teaches medical students, residents, and attending physicians in whole person medicine and patient centered clinical practice.
As Medical Director of MOTOX skin science, Dr. Recupero provides clinical oversight grounded in safety, ethics, and a whole person philosophy of care. Her leadership ensures that every treatment plan reflects thoughtful medical judgment, integrative principles, and a commitment to patient centered excellence.
