Maureen Furlong, MSNA, CRNA, APRN
Hi, I'm Maureen, I'm the owner and lead provider at MOTOX skin science.
As a Board Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA) with more than 20 years of patient care experience, I've built my career around safety, precision, and helping people feel their best. My nursing career began in Vermont before taking me to Boston's cardiac intensive care units and eventually back to Maine, where I've spent the past 15 years providing anesthesia care throughout Southern Maine.
I've also had the privilege of participating in surgical mission trips to Ecuador and Uganda. Those experiences reinforced something I believe deeply: every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and cared for. They continue to shape the way I practice today.

I love the combination of science, anatomy, artistry, and precision that aesthetics offers. What drew me to this field is the opportunity to help people feel more confident in their own skin. The best aesthetic treatments aren't about changing who you are. They're about helping you look refreshed, rested, and like the best version of yourself.
How I Care for You
I believe every patient deserves a thoughtful, personalized approach. I take the time to listen to your concerns, understand your goals, and create a treatment plan that makes sense for you. My background in anesthesia has taught me that safety always comes first, and my approach to aesthetics is no different.
Since entering aesthetics in 2020, I've completed extensive advanced training in injectables, skin rejuvenation, and facial assessment. I'm also certified in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS), allowing me to use ultrasound technology to assess facial anatomy, evaluate filler, support treatment planning, and enhance patient safety.

Hi, I'm Shanda, I'm a Registered Nurse specializing in medical aesthetics, a Licensed Massage Therapist, and a Functional Medicine Practitioner student.
I've always been passionate about helping people feel comfortable in their own skin. Whether it's improving skin quality, softening signs of aging, or simply helping someone look more rested, I love being part of that transformation.

For me, aesthetics is about more than treating what's visible on the surface. My background in massage therapy and my studies in functional medicine have taught me that how we feel often shows up in our skin. That's why I'm passionate about helping patients take a comprehensive approach to looking and feeling their best.

Hi, I'm Sierra, the warm face you'll meet at the front desk and the first step in your MOTOX experience.
I've been in aesthetics since 2019, and what keeps me here is simple, I genuinely love being part of the moment when someone starts to feel like themselves again. Whether you're walking in for the first time or returning for a follow up, my goal is to make sure you feel welcomed, informed, and excited about your care.
Why I work in aesthetics
I've struggled with acne personally, and I know how quietly it chips away at your confidence. That experience gave me something no training could, real empathy for what our patients carry when they walk through the door. It's why I'm so passionate about this work and why I take every skincare conversation seriously.
How I care for you
You'll find me at the front desk, but my role goes beyond scheduling. I'm here to help you understand your options, connect you with the right provider, and make sure you feel supported at every step of your self care journey. As a mom of two girls, I understand how hard it can be to prioritize yourself, and how much it matters when you do.

Elizabeth Recupero, DO, MPH, MEd
Dr. Elizabeth “Bitsy” Recupero brings three decades of experience in comprehensive, whole person medicine to her role as Medical Director at MOTOX skin science.
Dr. Recupero earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996. She completed a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
Following residency, she founded The Recuperative Center, a solo primary care practice in Lambertville, New Jersey, with a focus on Holistic and Integrative Medicine. During this time, she deepened her expertise in evidence based complementary care and completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona from 2007 to 2009.
Committed to advancing both public health and medical education, Dr. Recupero earned her Master of Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health in 2017 and her Master of Education with an emphasis in Instructional Design and Adult Learning Theory from the University of Massachusetts in 2018.
In 2012, she transitioned from private practice to serve at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, returning to her hometown of Boston, Massachusetts. There, she distinguished herself as a national subject matter expert in patient centered care, Whole Person Care, and health system redesign. In addition to providing primary care, she teaches medical students, residents, and attending physicians in whole person medicine and patient centered clinical practice.
As Medical Director of MOTOX skin science, Dr. Recupero provides clinical oversight grounded in safety, ethics, and a whole person philosophy of care. Her leadership ensures that every treatment plan reflects thoughtful medical judgment, integrative principles, and a commitment to patient centered excellence.
